Ofsted - Case Study

Ofsted is the Office for Standards in Education, Children’s Services and Skills. They inspect services providing education and skills for learners of all ages. They also inspect and regulate services that care for children and young people. After the implementation of a new inspection management system for Early Years inspections, Energise Technology worked with Ofsted to review the business continuity arrangements.

The Office for Standards in Education, Children's Services and Skills (Ofsted) is a non-ministerial department of the UK government, reporting to Parliament.

Ofsted is responsible for inspecting a range of educational institutions, including state schools and some independent schools, in England. It also inspects childcare, adoption and fostering agencies and initial teacher training, and regulates a range of early years and children's social care services.

After the implementation of a new inspection management system for Early Years inspections, Energise Technology worked with Ofsted to review the business continuity arrangements.

  • Review of inspection information sources
  • Identification of the key sources of inspection data and documents
  • Business continuity planning to ensure inspections, including safeguarding driven, could continue in event of system unavailability or failure

We supported Ofsted with their business continuity plan, reflecting long-term goals and crisis management in the event of system failure or unavailability. With improved applications and enhanced safeguarding processes, teams can conduct inspections with confidence that a solid business continuity plan is in place and built for longevity while collating with the digital landscape. It was fantastic to work with Ofsted and we look forward to watching them progress even further as an established government organisation, improving many lives by raising standards in education and children's social care.
